Chindogu Studio, itself, is a multidisciplinary space. Bringing to life zines, ceramics, and other products that refresh small living spaces; igniting creativity and joy; or facilitating community gatherings.
In Amsterdam, we operate a micro-studio for ceramics focused on maximising creativity and community interactions, whilst minimising environmental impacts.
Sustainable space: we commit to sustainability as one of the founding principles in our space.
- Improved sanitary and health measures like automatic nighttime HEPA filtration
- Energy efficiency use of an of energy efficient kiln, which uses 40% less energy than comparable ovens
- Increased circularity and reducing water use, for example we offer course that introduce waste products into clay and glaze and have introduced water use prevention measures and training to our members
Native to the US, Nichole is a 20-year veteran of the corporate sustainability space. Always interested in arts and creative practices, she has been fortunate enough for the freedom to develop her own practices and curiosities.
She is fascinated by the intersection of fine art and “craft,” namely what is reclassified as feminine versus masculine creative products. You will see her working in illustration, printmaking, fiber arts, and, of course, ceramics.
Her dog, Turtle, is a friendly and lazy presence in the studio.
